Electric Scooter Maintenance Checklist for Pakistani Roads

May 4, 20266 min read

One of the best things about going electric is how little maintenance an electric scooter needs — no engine oil, no spark plugs, no air filters. But "low maintenance" is not "no maintenance," especially on Pakistani roads with their potholes, dust, and summer heat. Use this simple electric scooter maintenance checklist to keep your Evee running smoothly for years.

Why Electric Scooters Need So Little Upkeep

A petrol engine has hundreds of moving parts that wear out. An electric drivetrain has very few. That means no oil changes, no tune-ups, and far fewer trips to the workshop. What is left is mostly basic care — tyres, brakes, battery habits, and cleanliness — which you can largely do yourself.

Daily / Before-Ride Checks (30 Seconds)

  • Battery charge — enough for your trip plus a buffer.
  • Tyres — look properly inflated, no obvious damage.
  • Brakes — feel firm when you squeeze the levers.
  • Lights and horn — working, especially before a night ride.

Weekly Checks

  • Tyre pressure — check with a gauge and inflate to the recommended level. Correct pressure improves range, comfort, and tyre life, and Pakistani roads are hard on under-inflated tyres.
  • Brake feel — listen for squealing or notice any softness; both mean it's time for attention.
  • Cleanliness — wipe down dust and grime, especially around the wheels and brakes. Lahore dust builds up fast.

Monthly Checks

  • Tyre tread and wear — uneven wear or low tread means plan a replacement.
  • Bolts and fasteners — a quick look for anything loose from constant pothole vibration.
  • Cables and connectors — no fraying, no loose connections.
  • Battery contacts — clean and dry.

Battery Care (the Most Important Habit)

Your battery is your biggest investment, so treat it well:

  • Charge with the original charger only.
  • Avoid regularly draining to 0%; top up around 20–30%.
  • Unplug once full.
  • Park in the shade during peak summer heat when possible.

Servicing on Pakistani Roads

Lahore's roads add a few realities worth planning for:

  • Potholes and speed bumps stress suspension and wheels — get a professional check if the ride starts feeling off.
  • Dust and heat mean more frequent cleaning and shaded parking.
  • Monsoon means rinsing off mud and keeping things dry after wet rides.

Have your scooter professionally inspected periodically — and any time something doesn't feel right.

Why Authorized Service Matters

An electric scooter should be serviced by someone trained on its specific platform — the battery management, controller, and charging system are not the same as a petrol bike's. At Scootric, our technicians are trained on the Evee models we sell, and we stock genuine parts locally in Lahore. Using authorized service also keeps your manufacturer warranty valid (up to 24 months motor, 18 months battery, 36 months frame).

Quick Reference Checklist

  • Daily: charge, tyres, brakes, lights.
  • Weekly: tyre pressure, brake feel, clean off dust.
  • Monthly: tread, bolts, cables, battery contacts.
  • Always: original charger, sensible charging, shaded parking, authorized service.
