Top 7 Myths About Electric Scooters in Pakistan — Busted

May 9, 20266 min read

Electric scooters are everywhere on Lahore's roads now, but plenty of myths still hold people back from switching. Let's bust the seven most common myths about electric scooters in Pakistan — with straight, honest answers.

Myth 1: "They Can't Handle Load-Shedding"

Reality: Modern batteries charge fully overnight in 7–8 hours (graphene) or 4–5 hours (lithium). Most riders simply plug in before bed and wake up to a full charge, regardless of the load-shedding schedule. A single overnight charge covers a full day of city riding for the average commuter.

Myth 2: "The Battery Dies in a Year"

Reality: Quality graphene and lithium batteries are built to last for years of daily use when charged properly. The "battery dies fast" stories almost always come from cheap lead-acid scooters bought from unauthorized sellers. Buy a graphene or lithium model from an authorized dealer with a real battery warranty (up to 18 months) and this simply is not your experience.

Myth 3: "There's No Power for Lahore's Roads"

Reality: Entry models are made for neighbourhood trips, yes — but the lineup goes far beyond that. The Evee S1 Pro has a 2,000W motor (2,600W peak) and a 65 km/h top speed; the S1 Air reaches 70 km/h. There is plenty of power for Canal Road, Ring Road, and the wider arterials.

Myth 4: "They're Too Expensive"

Reality: Prices start at PKR 95,000, and the running cost is tiny — roughly PKR 500–600 a month to charge versus PKR 9,000–10,000 in petrol. Factor in the fuel savings and an electric scooter is cheaper to own over time, not more expensive. Installment plans of up to 24 months make the upfront cost easy too.

Myth 5: "You Can't Get Spare Parts or Service"

Reality: This depends entirely on where you buy. From an authorized dealer like Scootric, genuine Evee parts are stocked locally in Lahore and our technicians are trained on the scooters we sell. Buy from a random reseller, and yes — service can be a problem. The fix is simple: buy authorized.

Myth 6: "They're Not Safe in the Rain"

Reality: Evee scooters are built for everyday use, including Lahore's monsoon. You can ride through normal rain and wet roads safely. The sensible rules are the same as any vehicle: avoid riding through deep standing water, and don't submerge the scooter. Ordinary rain is no problem.

Myth 7: "Electric Scooters Are Slow and Boring"

Reality: Twist the throttle on an Evee Gen-Z in Sports mode, or an S1 Air, and "boring" is the last word you'll use. Instant electric torque means quick, smooth getaways from every signal — often livelier off the line than a comparable petrol bike.

The Common Thread

Notice the pattern: most "problems" with electric scooters trace back to cheap units from unauthorized sellers. Buy a quality graphene or lithium scooter from an authorized dealer, with a real warranty and local service, and the myths fall apart. Browse the full range on our models page and price list.
