If your Evee doesn't start, don't panic — it is almost always something simple. Here's the order to check things in, the habits that prevent it next time, and exactly when to call Scootric for help.
If your Evee doesn't start, don't panic — it is almost always something simple. Here is the order to check things in, plus when to call us.
1. Is the Power Switch (or Key) On?
It sounds obvious, but the most common reason a scooter "won't start" is that the main power switch or key is in the OFF position. Turn it on and check the dashboard wakes up.
2. Is the Battery Charged?
Look at the battery indicator on the dashboard. If it is flashing low or sitting at zero, plug in for at least 30 minutes and try again. See how long an Evee takes to charge.
3. Are You Holding the Brake (If Required)?
Some Evee models need a brake lever held in during the start procedure (safety interlock). Try holding the rear brake while turning on the power.
4. NFC or Key Issue?
If your model uses NFC tap-start (like the Gen-Z), tap the card again — the reader is sensitive to position. For key-start models, try the key once more, slowly and fully.
5. Side Stand Up? Any Tripped Cutout?
Some Evees have a safety cutout when the side stand is down. Make sure the side stand is fully up. If there is a tripped fuse or persistent cutout, that needs a workshop look — see our service.
6. Just Caught in Rain or Deep Water?
Evees are water-resistant for normal rain, but exposure to deep standing water or pressure washing can affect things temporarily. Let it dry, try again, and if there is still an issue, message us. See riding an electric scooter in the rain for what's safe.

Habits That Prevent Won't-Start Issues
- Charge overnight so you start every day with a full battery.

- Service on schedule — see our maintenance checklist.
- Use the original charger only — non-original chargers can cause both immediate and long-term issues.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
My Evee's Dashboard Doesn't Wake Up — What Now?
First check that the main power switch is on and the battery has charge. If the dashboard stays completely dark even with the power on, the battery may be deeply depleted or there is a connection issue worth a quick check at our showroom. Message us at +92 316 366 3694 and we will guide you through it.
The Scooter Powers On But Doesn't Move
Check that the side stand is fully up, that the brake interlock isn't blocking the throttle, and that the ride mode isn't locking you out. If everything looks right and it still won't go, bring it in to our DHA Phase 1 or Awan Town showroom — see our service.
The Throttle Feels Dead
This is sometimes a safety interlock issue (brake or side stand) — work through the checklist above first. If the throttle is genuinely unresponsive after that, it is a workshop diagnosis. Call us — your 18-month manufacturer warranty covers genuine faults.
Is This Something I Should Try to Fix Myself?
For checks like the power switch, charge level, side stand, and brake interlock — yes, any owner can do those. For anything beyond that — fuses, controllers, throttles, batteries — leave it to trained Evee technicians at Scootric. Working on the electrical system without training risks both safety and your warranty.
What If It Won't Start Right After Charging?
Wait 5–10 minutes after unplugging before trying again, especially after a complete charge — sometimes the battery management system needs a brief moment to settle. If the issue persists, message us and we will help — see our service for next steps.
